Complete modernization of hardening presses for hardening clutch springs for cars.
A customer engaged in the production of automotive components decided to modernize hardening presses. The presses were completely disassembled and the mechanics and hydraulics were reconstructed. The task of our company was a complete modernization of the electrical part of the presses. It was necessary to create a new project of the electrical part, produce new switchboards, terminal boxes, install machine sensors and create a new control and safety program for the PLC. According to the customer’s requirements, the Siemens S7-1500 PLC and the Sick Flexisoft safety PLC were used.
Each press has its own control panel with Siemens HMI. The presses work in manual and automatic modes. In manual mode, the operator can move each press mechanism separately. In automatic mode, he enters the desired temperature of the hardening oil, the pressing power, the pressing time and the time after which the hardening oil is to be released.
After meeting the safety requirements, such as locking the main door, the operator starts the press into automatic operation with start button. In this mode, the press works fully automatically and after taking over the material, it performs its operation according to the specified parameters on the operator panel.
